Check and trust: improved diesel fuel has proven itself in business

Seven thousand kilometers, 6 regions, almost 600 liters of fuel and Land Cruiser is a participant in the Silk Way rally: they found out how diesel affects the engine and fuel system during the merciless operation of a car in urban conditions.
If you believe the advertisement, modern fuel improves engine performance, increases the life of the car and reduces fuel consumption. “Can advertising be trusted?” Asked a journalist from Yekaterinburg. As it turned out, you can. This is proved by the results of an experiment that was conducted not in a sterile laboratory, but in the most familiar conditions for us: the highway and the city.

The fuel from the Gazpromneft – Diesel Opti gas station was tested. According to the manufacturer, if you use it on an ongoing basis, the fuel system will be cleaned of deposits and carbon deposits, and consumption will become more economical. This was checked by the diesel Land Cruiser 200, which was sent on a trip from Moscow to Yekaterinburg on the condition that it will be refueled only with the specified fuel. By the way, since refueling was carried out in different regions, it was possible at the same time to evaluate a single fuel quality standard for different entities of the country.
Note, before the trip, the car went through a pre-test diagnosis, in the framework of which the indicators of all systems and the state of the engine were recorded. And only after that, the Silk Way rally participant went on the road: in total, he drove through the territory of 6 regions, with a temperature regime of “minus” 5 to “plus” 25 degrees, the total mileage – 7 thousand kilometers.

At the same time, the experiment implied standing idle on sections of repaired roads and in maximum traffic jams in cities along the route. Everything was honest: for a long time driving in start-stop mode, from which motor resources are generated at an intense pace. Common situation?

During the experiment, the Land Cruiser 200 refueled with 582 liters of “Diesel Opti” and visited the official service 5 times, where intermediate test results (dynamics and fuel readings) were noted.
During weekly inspections, car service workers first of all studied the operation of the engine, measured acceleration, deviations of the fuel adjustment readings in order to assess the clogging and wear of the nozzles. The tests did not reveal any deviations: the systems worked properly, the power remained the same, the acceleration from zero to “hundreds” remained within 9.5 seconds. And computer diagnostics confirmed that the value of the fuel correction is normal: from -3.0 to 3.0 mm³ at idle.
Fluctuations in fuel consumption per kilometer were in the range from 9.6 l / 100 km on the highway in cruise control mode to 14.2 l / 100 km in the conditions of metropolitan traffic jams (often 9-point). The average value for the whole trip is 12.1 l / 100 km.
In order to assess the effect of diesel fuel on the condition of all nodes in the long term during operation in the city, at the finish the car was subjected to a detailed inspection: they disassembled the fuel system and examined its condition, took oil and fuel samples, measured engine performance, and soot in the intake manifold. It turned out that everything remained normal in the “experimental” SUV: there was no sediment and water in the flask (this indicates good fuel quality), engine performance was at the same level, and the results on injection correction even got better.

Judging by the results of the experiment, the advertising of Diesel Opti really can be trusted: it cleans the nozzles, removes deposits and does not create new ones. The car went a solid path, which ran through different regions, different roads and at different temperatures overboard. At the same time, the fuel managed to “five plus”, and the condition of the engine and all components of the SUV remained at the same level.
