UAZs you have never seen

The first cars to leave the walls of the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant were ZIS 5V – the famous three-ton. This truck was one of the main vehicles of the Soviet army on the fronts of World War II. Produced from 1942 to 1944. In total, a little more than 10 thousand copies were produced.
ZIS 5V
The GAZ AA truck, popularly known as a lorry, was produced in Ulyanovsk from 1947 to 1951. It was designed to carry 1,500 kg of cargo. A lorry is considered the most massive Soviet car in the middle of the last century.

You will be surprised, but the GAZ-69, produced from 1954 to 1972, was considered in those years as a passenger-and-freight car of increased comfort. In his cabin could accommodate up to eight people.
GAZ-69
The UAZ-450A sanitary vehicles rolled off the assembly line from 1958 to 1965. For rounded shapes, this “UAZ” was nicknamed the “pill”. Due to the layout features, the gear lever was located near the partition, which is why the driver had to pull his hand back to switch.
UAZ-450A
UAZ-469B went off the assembly line from 1972 to 1985. It was a civilian version of the military all-terrain vehicle 469, an important distinguishing feature of which was the lack of gearboxes in the drive axles. It was produced exclusively with a tent roof.
UAZ-469B
The amphibious car UAZ-3907 Jaguar was created on the basis of model 469. The body at the same time had its own, the original one with two doors. Two screws were installed under the bottom, allowing them to sail at a speed of 9 km / h. But the serial production of the car did not start – the decaying Soviet Union was not up to it.

Another unrealized project was the UAZ-3172. This car was supposed to replace the obsolete 469th. It differed from the produced UAZs in the increased cross-country ability that was provided by the front and rear inter-wheel differential locks, as well as the center axle. Ground clearance was 325 mm! The car successfully passed state tests, but in 1993 the economic condition of the plant did not allow to start mass production.
UAZ-3172
UAZ-3172-01 is a civilian version of the promising all-terrain vehicle. For this version, an all-metal body and a more modest ground clearance of 220 mm were planned. But it did not work out.
UAZ-3172-01
Since the new models did not work out, in Ulyanovsk they decided to modernize the existing ones. The result was 3153 – an elongated version of the famous “goat”. It was produced from 1997 to 2007.
UAZ-3153
UAZ-3159 Bars left the overcoat 3153. Unlike the source, it had gear axles (they provided clearance of 300 mm), an extended track, a more modern interior and a number of other improvements. Years of production: 1998–2006.

Another offspring of the “goat” was an experimental pickup truck 2315, made in 1996. He also did not go into the series.
